Finland's strengths include eg. efficient management practices in businesses and the high percentage of R&D personnel in the employed labour force.
The IMD business school in Switzerland places Finland in the 9th position in 2009 World Competitiveness Yearbook. Finland's position has improved significantly compared to last year when Finland finished in 15th place. The United States is still leading the comparison.
The World Competitiveness Yearbook is based on a detailed analysis of how nations and enterprises manage the totality of their competencies to achieve prosperity or profit.
