04/02/2009

Nokia, the global leader in mobile and communication services, has signed a five-year agreement to outsource its helpdesk and desktop management services to the Indian company HCL Technologies Ltd.

HCL will provide helpdesk services in 13 languages, global account management, workstation packaging, creation and maintenance, workstation security management and onsite support services, spanning Nokia’s operations in 76 countries through HCL's global delivery centers in Finland, Poland, China, US and India. These services were previously provided by IBM.

The agreement coincides with the opening of HCL's new delivery centre in Helsinki, Finland. Employing one hundred people, the centre services HCL's clients in the Nordic and Baltic region, providing them with rightshoring options to enable a customized mix of services from different locations.
