Capgemini expands datacenter operations in Finland

11/11/2009

Two data centers in Finland will serve all Capgemini’s new outsourcing clients in the Nordic countries.

Capgemini, a major global company offering consulting, technology and outsourcing services, is planning to double its datacenter capacity in Finland over the next year. Capgemini will maintain the data systems of all its new outsourcing clients in the Nordic countries in two data centers located in the greater Helsinki region in Finland.

In 2007 Capgemini opened a modern data center in Espoo, Finland, and now plans to expand the facility from 900 square metres to 1200 square metres. This means adding about 2000 new servers to the data center, doubling the company’s current data center capacity.

Capgemini employs over 90,000 people globally and is the latest international company to rely on Finland as a safe location for its data centers. Earlier this year, the Internet giant Google decided to build a data center in a former paper mill located in Summa. Capgemini does not have any data centers in the other Nordic countries.
