The Finnish IT sector will create 11,000 new jobs and 400 new companies over the next four years, according to a study by the market research company IDC.
Market research company IDC estimates that 11,000 new jobs will be created in the Finnish IT sector by 2013 and that the sector will employ a total of 140,000 people in four years’ time. IDC also forecasts that 400 new companies will be created in the sector, most of which will be small and localized.
This growth would increase the Finnish IT sector’s share of the GDP from 5.99% to 6.35% in 2013. IDC also predicts that IT investments will increase from EUR 6.09 billion to EUR 7.33 billion this year. IDC’s study of the IT sectors in 52 countries was commissioned by Microsoft.
