A major development of the Pasila district of city will create thousands of jobs and many new business opportunities .
Finland’s first skyscrapers will be built in the Pasila district of the capital city Helsinki, which is an important junction for commuter and rail traffic in the city. Altogether ten high-rise buildings are planned , the highest being 150m tall, in an area covering 18.4 hectares owned by the state and the City of Helsinki.
The buildings have been designed by Cino Zucci Architetti from Milan, Italy. The lower floors will be reserved for office and business space and the upper floors for apartments. The project will create 3000-4000 jobs and provide accommodation for 1200 people.
This major development of the area also includes plans for a large shopping and recreation centre next to Pasila Station, creating many business opportunities in the area. Building work in Pasila is expected to start in 2015.
