Exposure in Nokia’s catalogue has boosted Trippo’s visibility, with 30,000 new downloads every month.
The Finnish company Cellictica was only founded in autumn 2007, but is already attracting global attention with its Trippo translation application for mobile phones. Trippo provides automatic translations both in text form and as speech synthesis between the English, Spanish, French and Italian languages.
After gaining exposure in Nokia’s spring catalogue, Trippo has appeared among the top 10 ranking mobile phone applications in Fortune magazine, and also had coverage on various mobile phone web sites. Trippo was also featured in the Hotel Management International magazine in June, a highly influential magazine for this global industry.
According to Kimmo Sainio, one of the founders of Cellictica, the excellent visibility gained by Trippo has resulted in about 30,000 new users downloading the trial version of the application every month. In the near future, Cellictica is planning to add speech recognition to the automatic translation and speech synthesis capabilities of the product.
Trippo can be downloaded from Cellictica’s website for a one-day trial.
