New shopping centre in Espoo

The city of Espoo sees 110,000-square-metre shopping centre in Lommila.

Espoo city council have unveiled plans to pave the way for a shopping centre with about 110,000 square metres of retail space in Lommila near the junction of circular III, the Finnish capital region's outermost ring motorway, and the Helsinki-Turku motorway.

The council said in a statement it was also planning earmarking land in the same area for some 100,000 square metres of offices and hotels.

Espoo sees construction beginning in three to five years' time.
