Finland’s strength in mobile technology and services made Helsinki an ideal location for the innovative German company.
The German company 12snap, a specialist in mobile marketing, opened an office in Finland in May which will also serve the Swedish, Norwegian and Danish markets. At the same time 12snap sold its shares in the Swedish agency Lokomobil.
12snap is one of the pioneers of mobile marketing in Europe.
“Our customers include global companies like Coca Cola, Adidas, McDonalds, Lufthansa, Vodaphone and Ferrero,” says Tiina Laiho, who is in charge of the company’s new office in Finland.
According to Laiho, thanks to Nokia’s innovativeness, Finland has become one of the leading countries in Europe for mobile technology and mobile services.
“We definitely want to be present here, where mobile marketing is developing strongly,” she says.
Interest from Finnish companies is growing fast and the 12snaps’s first mobile marketing campaigns in Finland have already been implemented. The traditional advertising agencies are also looking for a partner who specializes in mobile marketing.
Mobile marketing makes use of mobile technology like Bluetooth, mobile coupons and tickets, games, Java and Symbian applications, mobile Internet pages, mobile searches and banners, as well as mobile content like background images, animations, videos, mp3s and ringtones.
12snap was founded in 1999 and is listed among Red Herring’s 100 most innovative European technology companies. The company has 70 employees and its head office is located in Dusseldorf. Its other offices are situated in London, Milan, Istanbul and now Helsinki.
